World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa (2017 Edition)

The 2017 edition of the World Economic Forum on Middle East and North Africa took place in Jordan on 19-21 May. The meeting gathered together 1,000 government, civil society and business leaders from more than 50 countries to discuss the political and economic challenges in the region. This edition of the event, organized in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), focused on both economic and political challenges in the area.

The session topics included both the geopolitical shifts and humanitarian challenges in Syria, Iraq and Libya and the best strategies to foster social and political development in the region. A special focus of this edition was on the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), which brings new opportunities and challenges to local economies.
